The Lorain County Engineer’s Office was notified that the turnpike bridge over Gore Orphanage Rd will be a complete closure on December 1, 2025 and reopen approximately May 1, 2026.
Traffic will be detoured.
There will be construction on the Gore Orphanage Rd./Co Hwy 34 overhead bridge this winter. The closure will begin on 12/1/2025 and should be back open by 5/1/2026. The work will require complete closure of the bridge. Attached is the detour map for this project.
MP136.2 - Mainline WB/ EB over Baumhart Rd./ CR 51 should be opened to traffic by 12/1/25 (weather dependent) as they start to detour traffic around Gore Orphanage Road. The MP135.0 - Vermillion Rd/ CR 70 over the Turnpike is already back open to traffic.
Please note that there will be additional temporary lane closure under these 2 bridges (MP 135.0/136.2) in 2026 as they paint the structures.
Please ensure your safety/service personnel are aware of this closure.
Thank you,
Yvonne Shaw
